13" black vase fired for 5 hours in the upper range of the crystal growth temperatures. This glaze is so shiny it's a real headache to try to shoot in any condition without a lot of reflections. It's almost enough to make me go back to raku.
12" vase fired with a copper glaze and then post-fire reduced to 1400 degrees for 10 minutes. This was one of the few from the first test reduction done last year that worked out ok, but sat in a corner forgotten until now.

Reduction Post-Firing

It's been a busy fall and we haven't fired yet, but we are getting a firing together for next week. The only new work done has been a trial post firing reduction done to try to get some different colors on a firing we did last spring that didn't work out too well. I thought this piece worked out kind of nice, but it's subtle. It's a 9" tall green glazed vase that got a post firing reduction in a gas kiln to 1400 degrees for 10 minutes. This vase is going to the silent auction at the Clay Arts Utah Holiday Sale that is just opening now.
